A "Meeting" with Jürgen Habermas
and the Opening of a Dialogical Space with Distinguished Scholars
In re-examining the role of philosophy—not merely as a mode of reflection, but as a practice of sharing and community formation—the present program engages with the thought of Habermas, situating it within a rich space of dialogue alongside respected scholars.
Participants include:
- Mr Bùi Văn Nam Sơn, a distinguished researcher whose work has significantly contributed to introducing German and Western philosophy to Vietnamese readers. He also serves as the general editor of three major translated works presented on this occasion.
- Ms Vũ Hoàng Lan Phương, translator of Habermas’s seminal work The Theory of Communicative Action, currently pursuing graduate studies in philosophy at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany.
- Mr Nguyễn Đắc Kiên, journalist and translator of The Habermas Dictionary by Andrew Edgar.
Scholarly significance of the event:
- Providing a forum for engagement with dedicated translators of Habermasian philosophy
- Offering accessible interpretations of complex conceptual frameworks
- Fostering intellectual exchange and contributing to the cultivation of a reflective reading community with broader social impact
