Albert Einstein was named “Person of the Century” by Time Magazine. He was not only a brilliant physicist, but also a profound thinker whose reflections extended across philosophy, anthropology, science, as well as politics, society, culture, education, and the fundamental questions of human existence. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential intellectual figures of modern civilization, and the ideas he left behind continue to hold enduring relevance to this day.
Drawing on his essays and speeches, scholars have distilled his thought into two major works—The World As I See It and Out of My Later Years—which may be considered foundational texts encapsulating Einstein’s intellectual legacy.
This special colloquium will open a dynamic, multi-dimensional space for dialogue on the breadth of Einstein’s intellectual journey, highlighting key transformations in his thought before and after the age of fifty, as observed and synthesized from these two seminal works.
