Seminar:"The Fareastern Way of Educational Revolution - the Case of Taiwan”

In the morning of October 31, 2012, more than 60 university lecturers, school leaders, and researchers from higher education institutions and schools attended anIRED seminar entitled “The Far Eastern Way of Educational Revolution – The Case of Taiwan.”  Professor Tran Van Doan from National Taiwan University, the seminar speaker, shared his profound ideas and philosophical observations on Taiwan’s education system during its revolution.  Professor Tran also offered his recommendations for practical improvement which may be applicable to thecurrent Vietnamese educational reform.  He proposed that Vietnam should utilize and enhance its internal strengths inmanpower, culture, geography, and other resources to win the leading position in certain aspects instead of always chasing after popular trends/fadsfor which we have little or no competitive advantage. Professor Tran Van Doan is a prominent scholar who has had more than 40 years researching and teaching philosophy at many universities worldwide.  His work on philosophy has been published in various international journals in English, French, German, Italian, Chinese and Vietnamese languages. This seminar was the fifth in the Philosophy of Education seminar series organized by IRED.
